Christian Help Provides School Clothes and Supplies

Well, once we hit August, we all know that means it's back to school time, and for most families that means buying school supplies and clothes

Christian Help in Morgantown hosted their annual back-to-school giveaway to help families prepare for their kids to go back to school. Numerous employees and volunteers set up for days to prepare the clothes and supplies for the many families.

"It's important because as you can see, there's a large demand for supplies and clothes. I think it's very beneficial for the community and the surrounding areas," said Norly Prucien, a Christian Help volunteer.

Last year items were provided to more than 600 students, and they're expecting a greater turnout this year. The giveaways are for students of all ages, and families are not required to register to participate.

"We know it's a financial burden for parents because you have to pay rent, utilities, gas, buy food. Kids are home in the summer so they're eating more. Your food budget is stretched further. So, we step in and do this to try and help our families help their children get ready for school," said Cheryl Callen, the Director at Christian Help.

Families have up until Wednesday to stop by Christian Help for support.
