As the weather turns colder, another issue we face in our area is the homeless people who are left looking for warm clothes, as well as a place to stay.

For one church over in Taylor County, they took a stand and decided to help the community in a big way.

Organizers told us dozens of people lined the halls at the Message of Freedom Church in Grafton  for their annual clothing giveaway.

The minister of the church said this event is important for Christians because it reminds them of some of the duties they were set to do in the first place.

"We study the bible, and we find out our most important commission is to feed the hungry and clothe the naked. This is probably some of the most pure religion you can find," said Michael Stottlemyer, Minister of Message of Freedom Church.

The church not only gave away free clothing, but also had a good bit of free food to eat as well.
