While some people are busy filing taxes, students accross the state were busy filing their own paperwork.
College Goal Sundays is an annual event hosted by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission. It was an opportunity for students and families to recieve help when filling out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The workshops were held in over 20 locations accross the Mountain State and were free to attend. Over 400 Financial Aid Counclers volunteered their Sunday afternoons to help out.
"High school, college, adult students, anyone can sign up for it. It's been increasing every year which is really nice to see. We're up to about 20 applicants from last year so it's steadily gaining participants" said Financial Aid Councler, Nicole Solomon.
Over 150 students and their families attended the workshop in Morgantown. More information on FAFSA can be found here.
