Thousands of people joined together to support a local mans battle with cancer in Lewis County this afternoon.

As a man known for his generosity and inspiration George Ables has put a smile on the faces of residents all across our area. well this afternoon the community banded together at the Jane Lew park building in support of Georges battle with a rare form of cancer.

They did this by attending a spaghetti dinner to raise money for the high cost of his medical expenses, and while Friday was meant to be all about him, George couldn't help but show others his selfless compassion.

"No matter who's been in here, I've known them all. It means a lot when all this family and friends shows up. I mean you don't realize how many friends and family you got until you get it, and then they'll all come out to help you any hour of the day, so there ya are, that is how things is." said George Ables.

For more information, or to make a donation towards George's medical expenses you are asked to call (304) 269-8806 or log onto www.facebook.com/friendsofgeorgeables
