In Marion County investigators are still looking into a 10 year old homicide case that ran cold.

Just 10 years ago Nicole Markley came up missing. She was just 16 years old at the time.

According to the Marion County Sheriff's Department, approximately two weeks after she disappeared with out a trace her body was discovered in a small stream in Four States, just outside Worthington . An investigation into her death has been on going ever since. But in the ten years since her untimely death investigators have never closed the case.

"Those files are never just filed away and forgotten, and leads are worked as they come in. A lead may come in tomorrow and it could clear a case." said Sgt. Chip Phillips, Detective with the Marion County Sheriff's Department.

Suspects were charged in this case, however those charges were later dropped. But as tips and leads have come in over the years investigators have never given up the hope of finding justice for Nicole and her family.
