People crowded the Harrison County Commission meeting Thursday morning to tell their thoughts about Salem possibly taking control of part of route 50.

The city wants to annex in the road on both sides of Route 50 from Cherry Camp Road to the Doddridge County line. Supporters of the annexation said this would be good because police and fire could reach any accidents or incidents in the area a lot faster than the sheriff's department or state police.

Those against the annexation said that the police and fire departments aren't ready to investigate accidents that could happen there. Other business owners along the route said they wish the city would talk to them about it.
Commissioners delayed making a decision.
