There is steady growth and economic development at the Charles Pointe and White Oaks area in Bridgeport.
The city's development authority got an update on new business coming into that area at it's meeting Monday night. Officials said that a Courtyard Inn by Marriott and Comfort Suites will be built, as well as a Sheetz Convenience Store in the White Oaks area. A new strip mall is well underway at Charles Pointe.
"I believe in economic development has no boundaries, so anything economically that happens in Bridgeport or the Bridgeport area - it also benefits the rest of Harrison County as well as north central West Virginia. So that old saying that a rising tide lifts all boats, all the development going on along here helps everyone," said John Stogran of the Bridgeport Development Authority.
Stogran said Charles Pointe could also help ease the housing shortage in the city.

I heard a Quaker Steak and Lube was coming to the Bridgeport area. Any confirmation on where?
