A Doddridge County boy who has worked for years to help others in need was officially awarded on Wednesday.
Julian Harrington received word that he received the Prudential Spirit of Community Award weeks ago. On Wednesday, school officials presented him with a medal for that honor. Julian was nominated since he has done more than 1,000 hours of charity work. He raised money for tsunami victims and fire victims in his hometown and even made lap blankets for senior citizens.
Julian heads to Washington, DC in may to compete with kids from across the US for the top 10 national awards.

Three other Doddridge County Middle School students have gotten this award in the past.
