A Doddridge County man is in jail after he apparently hit an infant.
According to police, 33-year-old Richard Lee Harris picked up the infant and slammed her down into a portable play pen. When the infant tried to crawl out Harris allegedly hit her hard in the leg with an open hand.
Harris is charged with child abuse with risk of injury.

He deserves to be put back in jail. The news always makes the details far less worse than they actually were. He didn't just hit the baby girl, he did so while he was beating the mother who is at least a foot shorter than him and 100 pounds less. Hope he rots.

Oh pfft! They'll arrest him for this and let real abusers go? Our officials are getting overly excited for arresting people aren't they? Really? A slap with an open hand on the leg? I've had worse and it never hurt me or millions of others. This is stupid and he'll be let go!
