Dylan Jeffries, the South Harrison High School football player who was taken to the hospital during a game on September 27th, has died.

Word of his death broke early Monday morning on the Facebook page created to update everyone on his condition.

Jeffries was rushed to the hospital after an aneurysm on his brain burst during a football game last month. He spent the next week in the hospital.

Shortly after midnight on Monday, the following was written on the Dylan Jeffries Update page:

"Dylan has fought very [hard] through this past week, but today his battle is over. He has gone to be with our Lord and Savior."

Principal Greg Moore said that additional counselors were at the school Monday to assist grieving students and faculty. After-school activities have been canceled.
Moore says funeral information is incomplete.
More than 1,000 people attended a vigil for Jeffries last week.
