The nursing home at the VA Hospital in Clarksburg was rocking Monday all thanks to Ed Davisson and some friends.
February 10th through 16th is National Salute to Veteran Patients Week. There's going to be volunteers in the VA all week, including the WVU Mountaineer and Liberty High School's chorus.
The annual event encourages folks to send a valentine to a veteran, participate in a number of different activities or go in and volunteer.
"Without our volunteers we couldn't do what we do at the medical center. Our patient care has increased exponentially by our volunteers. Our volunteers work in every aspect of the hospital, so I'm always looking for volunteers, always looking for people to come in and visit patients, always looking for people to come in and help our patients - whatever it is," said Thomas Gallagher, chief of voluntary service.
If you'd like to see what you, your class or some friends can do to help out this week or anytime call 304-623-3461.
