After an in-depth investigation with the help of many police departments, troopers put three Wood County men, who they believe broke into the Harrisville State Police Detachment, behind bars Thursday afternoon.
Troopers said 33-year-old David Wine, 48-year-old John Richards and 25-year-old William Estep all worked together to get inside the detachment last month. They supposedly broke into the evidence room and a firearm was recovered that they're believed to have taken.
The three are in jail with $100,000 bonds.
These arrests are the result of an extensive investigation conducted by the West Virginia State Police with the assistance of the Parkersburg Drug Task Force, the Ritchie County Sheriff’s Department and the Harrisville Police Department. At this time, the investigation continues and additional charges may be forthcoming.
