FIRST ON 5 NEWS: Multiple Vehicle Accident Closes Part of I-79

Traffic is backed up for miles in the southbound direction of I-79 near mile marker 113 after a multiple vehicle accident that happened a little before 5:30 Friday evening.
Three cars were heading northbound on I-79 when they somehow crashed.  
One of the cars tried to slow down to avoid the crash and somehow caused a van to roll over and come to a rest in the southbound lanes. 
One man was trapped in van and had to be extricated.  He has been transported to United Hospital Center with unknown injuries. A landing zone was set up near the scene of the accident, but it is not clear if they were able to fly in because of the weather. 
Both southbound lanes of I-79 are near mile marker 113 are closed.  The cause of the accident is unknown at this time and is currently under investigation. Stay with 5 News for the latest updates on this story.
