FIRST ON 5 NEWS UPDATE: Doddridge County Fatal Accident Victims Identified

5 NEWS UPDATE: Thursday, June 27

Investigators have released more information about an accident Wednesday in Doddridge County.  According to State Police 30-year-old  Mindy Weaver from Bridgeport was traveling West when she lost control of her vehicle, crossed the median and collided with a vehicle traveling East. 
The driver of the other vehicle, 43-year-old David Naill and his passenger 43-year-old  Karen Lemmert, both from from Maryland, received critical injuries and were transported to the hospital via helicopter.  A juvenile passenger in Mindy Weaver ’s vehicle was also transported to the hospital via helicopter.  
Mindy Weaver  died at the scene as a result of her injuries.  The cause of this crash is still under investigation. Stay with 5 News for the latest updates.

5 NEWS UPDATE: Wednesday, June 26, 7:00 p.m.

State Police have confirmed one person was killed and three others were flown from the accident.

It appears that a car traveling westbound on Route 50 crossed the center median and hit a car heading in the opposite direction, near Long Run Road.

ORIGINAL: Wednesday, June 26, 6:15 p.m.

Traffic was stopped and slowed in both directions along Route 50 Wednesday after an accident in Doddridge County. As of 6:30 p.m., Route 50 eastbound is down to one lane and traffic was backed for miles in both directions.

It happened around 5:40 p.m. near the intersection with Sherwood Road.

AirEvac Lifeteam and HealthNet both flew to the accident.
