Some students in Monongalia County didn't have the end of the week they were hoping for. That's because the bus taking them home from school was involved in a crash.

Emergency officials told 5 News that accident took place at the intersection of the Mason Dixon Highway and Daybrook Road right after 3:30 Friday afternoon.

Police said a blue Chevy pick-up truck hit the school bus, and then it fled the scene. Police later caught up with the driver at the Family Dollar in Blacksville. Jeremy Anderson, 23, was arrested for Aggravated DUI and Hit-and-Run causing Property Damage.

Two special needs students, two high school students, one school aide and a bus driver were all on board. No one was hurt.

The incident is still under investigation.
