It's that time of year again for fresh produce to make its way back to Fairmont.
The Fairmont Farmers Market kicked off it's first day of sales at 4 pm on Tuesday evening.
Now in the past the farmers market has bounced around town a bit. But, it has found a new home this year in the Veterans Square parking lot. The farmers market is expected to have up to eleven vendors on Tuesday, and is expected to be packed with farm fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables. Local community members are excited about being able to support their community, and buy locally grow produce.
"The benefits of the public market are very far reaching. You've got the benefit of the access to locally grown food, which is a benefit for
healthy living, healthy community. That also supports our agricultural community." Kate Greene, Director of Main Street Fairmont
The Fairmont Farmers Market is open now on Tuesday evenings from 4 to 6, and Saturday's from 10 until 2 in the afternoon.
