About 100 golfers turned out for Fairmont General's Annual Frank Pulice Jr. Golf Outing on Thursday. The outing is the hospital's only annual special event and they've been doing it for the last 26 years.
Thursday was extra-special for the hospital foundation director and golf outing namesake Frank Pulice Jr. He started the tournament all those years ago, and this one will be his last as director. He's retiring at the end of this month after 35 years of service.
Before the golfers teed off, Pulice told them this has been a difficult year for Fairmont General, but they've made it through because of their great staff.
"It's been a lot of fun, I've raised a lot of money with them, I've met many people, and I'm very much involved in the community. So being the director of Fairmont General Hospital Foundation has been a real honor for me," Pulice said.
All the proceeds from Thursday's event went to the inpatient psychiatry department and vascular lab as part of the hospital's Moving Forward Campaign.
