Thursday night in Fairmont, the city threw a birthday bash for West Virginia almost as big as the one in Charleston!
Local officials in Marion County expect the streets to be line with people coming out to celebrate our states big 150th birthday. Downtown will host everything from an afternoon tea with the Pierponts, to a civil war bus tour. The city is even awarding prizes to people who come out with the best beard and best costume from that era.
The festivities will continue until 9:00 Thursday evening with free food, games, and of course birthday cake! So if you're looking for something to do Thursday, make sure to head over to Fairmont to join in on the birthday celebration.
