When tragedy strikes, it can be very emotional, but for one community in Harrison County, it was the exact opposite.

Hundreds of people, including football players from all the high schools in Harrison County, gathered at South Harrison High School on Sunday evening for a prayer vigil, to lend an extra hand to seriously injured football player Dylan Jeffries.

According to witnesses, Jeffries apparently walked off the field and fell unconscious Friday night during the game versus Lincoln.

He was flown out to Ruby, and is now in a medically induced coma after suffering some type of brain injury. Organizers said they were amazed to see how many people turned out for the event.

"It's amazing to see how many are here. We have so many out here, and we really want to thank them all, said Cathy Broadwater and Sonya Davis, organizers of the vigil.

Everyone said they hope the power of prayer can heal Dylan, and hopefully bring him back to the sidelines of a football field where he wants to be.
