It's that time of the year again! Time for the 72nd annual Strawberry Festival.
Wednesday kicked off the festival with the opening ceremonies in Buckhannon.

The King and Queen of the festival were there to help start the festivities by lighting the Strawberry Torch Wednesday afternoon.
Vendors also opened up their booths, with lots of strawberry foods for sale. The events will continue for the rest of the week and into the weekend.
Several parades are planned, including the grand feature parade on Saturday. There will also be several bands playing on Friday and Saturday night on Main Street for Party Gras.
5 News talked with festival officials and the Queen, who said nothing can compare to being in Buckhannon during this time.
Strawberry Festival Queen Hannah Mccomas said, "This is my second time actually attending the festival and so far it's been an exciting adventure. I'm excited to see what the rest of the week holds for me."
Vicky Kelley, the President of the West Virginia Strawberry Festival, said, "It's real exciting to get to meet people that you've not seen for awhile, so it's kind of like a homecoming."
The coronation of the King and Queen will be Wednesday night, May 15th, at 7:00.
