Fire Damages Home In Idamay

A fire damaged a portion of a home in Marion County on Tuesday morning.

Crews were called to the home off of 2nd Street in Idamay at around 9:00 a.m. According to officials with the Farmington Volunteer Fire Department, when they arrived, smoke was showing from the basement.

The people who live in the home were able to escape without injuries.

The fire was contained to the basement. The flames were put out in about 15 minutes.

An exact cause of the fire has not been determined, but investigators said it appears to have been accidental. Firefighters aren't sure how bad the damage is at this time.
