Late Saturday night in Lewis County, a fire destroyed an abandoned home on Montgomery Street in Weston, but firefighters said they don't think it was suspicious.

Shortly after 10:00 P.M., firefighters got the call, and it took them about twenty minutes to get the blaze under control.

They said the fire started in the cellar-house attached to the actual house.

The owner had a burning permit and they were legally burning, but it got out of control.

The owner was in the process of tearing down the home that had been abandoned for more than a decade.
