FAIRMONT, W.Va. (AP) - A former North Marion High School cheerleading coach who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing male students will spend 12 years on home confinement.
Marion County Circuit Judge David Janes also ordered Amanda Barker on Monday to register as a sex offender.
She received 10 years for two counts of sexual abuse by a parent or guardian and two years for soliciting a minor via computer.
The 31-year-old Mannington resident also must go through a treatment program. If she violates any conditions of home detention, she could be jailed.
Barker was arrested in December 2012 for abusing a 16-year-old. Two other boys later came forward with accusations.
One boy told police Barker had oral sex with him in her home, after her husband and children went to bed.

There was no abuse? What fool said this? Uh, go back to school because it's obvious you cannot read. The 'abuser' ADMITTED her "Guilt." Duh! Ignorance is not bliss. Exercise your brain; it's a terrible thing to waste.

There was no abuse. Misusing words like this is unprofessional and unethical. The news team at channel 5 should know better than to use words that are inappropriate and inaccurate. I know that reporters and news writers are trained to lie and manipulate the language but.....that doesn't make is alright. Shame on you. To make it simple, STOP DOING THAT!

If this were a man he would be in prison. Pretty biased justice system if you ask me. What about the victims? There is a clear message that girls are more "valued" then boys. It amazes me that these judges can hand down some of these sentences with a straight face. Rest assured...you are a joke to those of us with any common sense what so ever. Marion county courts should be embarrassed!
