A former outside linebacker for West Virginia University who was arrested in September made an appearance in court Thursday.
d'Vante Henry, who was originally charged with second degree sexual assault, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of first degree sexual abuse. He's currently facing one to five years in prison.
Monongalia Circuit Court Judge Russell Clawges, Jr. granted a request from Henry's attorney to reduce bond which will allow the defendant to post bail.
According to a criminal complaint, Henry entered a woman's room and forced her to have sex with him. At the time Henry told investigators the sex was consensual.
