26 million Americans are diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. Many more could be at risk. That's why United Hospital Center is working with a national foundation to offer free kidney screening.

The National Kidney Foundation's Kidney Early Evaluation Program will be at the Bridgeport Conference Center on Thursday, February 21, to perform the free screenings on 100 people who are 18 and older.
If diabetes or high blood pressure runs in your family, you could be at risk; however, experts encourage everyone to get checked out because every organ in your body can be affected by the disease.

To sign up for the free health screenings, call the National Kidney Foundation at 1-800-261-4115. The event will go on from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
