An alleged fugitive out of Virginia was picked up in Marion County, after investigators said he came into our state with a checkered past.

27-year-old Marcus Jefferson Howard was arrested after police said there was a warrant for his arrest out of Virginia. Howard violated his probation by fleeing across state lines into our area.

Before allegedly running from police, he was originally facing a long list of charges that included malicious wounding and conspiracy.

Howard is being transported back to Virginia where more charges are pending.
