QUICK, W.Va. (AP) - Kanawha County police say a 10-year-old girl has died after a boy accidentally shot her during a target practice.

Sheriff's Cpl. B.D. Humphreys says the shooting occurred around 5:30 p.m. Sunday near Quick.

Humphreys said Monday in a news release that the girl suffered injuries to her arm and chest. She died overnight at a Charleston hospital.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.

The girl and the 9-year-old boy weren't identified.
