Golfers and supporters of Bridgeport High School braved the raindrops to support their school, Thursday afternoon.

Bridgeport Country Club hosted the 17th Annual Wayne Jamison-Mary Reppert Scholarship Golf Tournament. Wayne Jamison was a former, long time football coach and Mary Reppert was a science teacher for many years.

Proceeds from the tournament benefit the scholarships for deserving seniors. Organizers said the tournament and the scholarships have both grown over the years. "We've been able to increase our scholarships from $500 when we first started to $4,000 a year now. And it's because we do get their support. We couldn't do it without them," said volunteer, Fay Jamison.

80 golfers participated in Thursday's event.
