Harrison County Residents Battle Road Problem

Apparently, there's an issue with Birds Run Road. It's the last road on Highway 57, and splits off to Route 20. Locals from that area presented their case to the commission, saying the road is unmaintained, which damages their vehicles.

They also said they often go as slow as 10-15 mph on the road because of this. Culverts are a big problem, along with some erosion along the sides of the road. Commissioner Mike Romano listened, and offered a suggestion.

He said for them to write a letter with signatures from families affected by the road's condition. He said he'd then take this letter to the Department of Highways, so they can work on trying to improve the road.

Romano said, "Commissioner Fazzini and I will go talk the Department of Highways, and see if we can get something done out there on the roadway. You know, you're one of thousands in the county that are just in bad shape."

Officials said we have the biggest district for roads east of the Mississippi, so it's a huge undertaking to take care of all our roads.
