The heavy rain across our area caused some rivers, creeks and streams to rise, Wednesday. One of the areas that flooded was the Buckhannon River.

The river was moving at a fast pace in Buckhannon. The water jumped it's banks in some spots, but it mainly reached the baseline of the trees along the river.

Some residents who live in the area estimated the river jumped 10 feet. But despite the overflowing river and heavy rains, people weren't concerned about their homes flooding.

Residents also said this flood didn't compare to the bad floods of 1985 and 1996 - where high water damaged several homes.
