Holiday Shopping Season Actually Starts in October

Black Friday's a big boost for the local economy. In fact, this year is expected to have one of the longest shopping seasons in history.
At Meadowbrook Mall, Black Friday is one of the busiest days of the year, along with the two Saturdays before Christmas but the holiday season actually started last month.
"Weekends have definitely been busier than past years. It's because retailers are offering sales before Black Friday sales. It's not just Black Friday to Christmas Eve anymore. It starts really in October," said Meadowbrook Mall Property Manager Marcello Lalama.
