Saturday night in Bridgeport, the 52nd annual Holly Ball was held for the first time at the Bridgeport Conference Center at Charles Point.
The Holly Ball helps raise funds for UHC, and this year all proceeds went to the purchase of a Tissue-Equivalent Phantom Torso for the UHC School of Radiological Technology. Officials with UHC stressed the importance of this torso to help the students have a more realistic learning experience.
"To me there's nothing any more important then educating our youth and that's what it's being used for--the young people going into the radiology field," Ball co-chair Carol Gaynor told 5 News.
"Because it teaches the students how to properly diagnose. Once the students graduate they need that experience to diagnose different types of diseases," said Auxilary President Barbara Lopez.
Along with the dancing and cocktails, there was also a silent auction. Items as simple as WVU rugs were auctioned off, but there were bigger prizes: like a four bedroom condo in Montana. The ball ended at midnight.
