It looks like the company that makes Twinkies might get a second chance at life. That's because a bankruptcy judge has ordered Hostess Brand officials meet with the employees union to see if they can work out their differences.
On Friday officials with the company made a bombshell announcement when they said they planned to close down. That came months after the filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.
Officials blamed the potential closure on increased production costs and on an ongoing labor dispute.
At a hearing Monday afternoon company officials planned to ask permission to sell off some of their assets.
Instead the judge told them they must meet again with the Bakers Union to see if they can work out their issues.
That bit of information came as welcome news in Morgantown. That's because until Monday Hostess officials said the plan was that 18,000 people would be out of work. That number figured to include some of the ones who work at the outlet off of Greenbag Road.
Asel Kennedy, a Mon County Commissioner, said he's glad those folks will be able to keep their jobs for now.
