Many of your eyes were no doubt glued to your televisions Thursday afternoon. The reigning hot dog eating contest champion, and recent visitor to the 5 News studio, Joey Chestnut attempted to break his own record of 68 hot dogs in 10 minutes.

He broke the record by eating 69 hot dogs at the Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest on Thursday afternoon. The win marks his seventh victory in the competition.

None of the other competitors even came close to catching him. The second place finisher only ate 52 hot dogs and buns. We asked people what they think about the so called accomplishment and if anyone feels like they can take on Chestnut. You can see what they had to say by watching the video above.
