A bill that would help pay for a new baseball stadium for West Virginia University is approaching third base.
On Wednesday two house committee's approved legislation that would create a tax increment financing project (TIF) to pay for it.
The bill is the final piece of funding needed for a $96-million development project at the University Town Center.
In March 5 News reported the TIF apparently hit a snag in the House Judiciary Committee, which caused a squabble between folks in Monongalia and Harrison Counties.
On Wednesday the bill passed both the House Judiciary and Finance committees. That bill would also provide $28-million for a new interchange along Interstate 79.
The bill still needs to be approved by the house floor, and Governor Earl Ray Tomblin.
