Hundreds of Blockbuster Stores Slated to Close

The way people watch movies may be changing in the near future and not just because of technology. It was recently announced that hundreds of Blockbuster stores will be closing across the country in the next few weeks.

There's no definite word on if stores in the area will be shut down as a part of this nationwide closure. The store manager in Clarksburg said he can't comment on this and knew that they would learn more information Friday night.

Just last February, hundreds of stores were shut down. The company, which is owned by Dish Network, said they closed the certain stores last year because they were unprofitable. This is supposedly the same way they are picking which stores to shut down this year. Some of the stores are also reaching the end of their leases and they may close as well.

A lot of people said they're not surprised since it's not very common for people to actually go to movie stores to pick up movies nowadays.
