The weather couldn't have been more perfect Sunday afternoon for the National Kids Day event in Randolph County.

Elkins City Park was filled with hundreds of kids. There were all sorts of activities for them, like face-painting, sack racing, and carnival rides.

They even got meet Ronald McDonald. This was the 11th time the event was held.

Organizers said it gives parents, and grandparents, the opportunity to spend extra time with their little ones. Some participants said they had a great time.

Participant Alexia Whitmore said, "I got this ticket, and if they call it, I get a free backpack. I got my face painted, and a tattoo done."

All of the activities at the event were free of charge.
