President Obama was officially sworn into office Sunday for a second term. Monday, he made his public inauguration speech.
In 2009, Obama's plans for America's future focused around "change", but now in 2013, he's looking into the past to set a new course for our future. In his speech, he touched on issues of the past that we still face today.
"Together we determine that a modern economy requires railroads and highways to speed travel and commerce, schools and colleges to train our workers. Together we discovered that a free market only thrives when there are rules to ensure competition and fair play," said President Obama.
After completing one term as president, Obama is the center of many controversial issues. Between equality rights, health care reform, and the federal deficit, everyone has an opinion on what they would like to see happen over the next four years.
"Anything that he can do that betters the country overall for everybody, not just a particular class or socio-economic status, would be appreciated," said Dirk Kelley, Morgantown resident.
"Well, I want to see people have jobs, I want to see the older people taken care of, and research on the things that need researched," said Lois Dieson, Morgantown resident.
As for whether or not those goals will be achieved by 2017, many aren't certain.
"Hopefully, but I tend to not be too optimistic, so I will say that I remain undecided on that issue," said Dirk Kelley.
"I don't know. I just pray that things will be better," said Lois Dieson.
