One year ago this month,  two people were killed when a driver supposedly ran a red light and hit a car that was passing through the intersection. This week, a Harrison County prosecutor turned in a court filing that accused that same driver of going 80 in a 55 m.p.h. zone when he ran that red light.

Erik Sams was the driver in question and Emery Freeman and Tonya Hurst were the two people killed in the car that Sams hit. He's charged with two counts of negligent homicide and one count of failure to obey a traffic control device.
Sams is set to appear in court for a hearing next Thursday.
