CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Unemployment rates fell in 52 of West Virginia's 55 counties in April.
WorkForce West Virginia said Friday that jobless rates rose in Monongalia and Pocahontas counties, while the rate in Jefferson County remained steady.
Monongalia County continues to have the lowest rate in the state at 4.2 percent. Counties with the highest rates were Webster, 12.7 percent; Clay, 12.2, and Pocahontas, 11.3.
West Virginia's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 6.6 percent in April, down four-tenths of a percentage point from March's rate.
