An order has been issued to disqualify Randolph County Circuit Court Judge, Jaymie Godwin Wilfong, from presiding over any and all cases prosecuted or otherwise handled by the Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

This decision follows an investigation into an affair Wilfong had with the former director of the local community corrections program.

Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Appeals, Robin Jean Davis, determined that there is sufficient reason to warrant the disqualification, to "avoid even the appearance of impropriety."

Judge Thomas W. Steptoe, Jr. and Judge Thomas H. Keadle have been temporarily appointed to preside over cases handled or prosecuted by the Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
