The Annual West Virginia Strawberry Festival will be here before you know it. Today in Upshur County, festival organizers were busy figuring out who would become a part of the Junior Royalty Revue.
Buchannon-Upshur High School hosted the event and residents came out to cheer on their contestant.
70 contestants competed for a spot on the throne. Children between the ages of four and 13 competed in the pageant.
The winners will get the chance to take part in festival activities and the parade. The winners of the Junior Revenue are also given the opportunity to travel around the state with older royalty.
The funds from the pageant help pay for activities in the Strawberry Festival that everyone can enjoy.
