The trial that's been going on since last week has finally ended. William Murray was found guilty of first degree murder without mercy.

The jury was deliberating for about two hours after starting fresh Tuesday morning before coming to a decision. When the verdict was announced Murray's family members were upset, but T.J. Blankenship's family and friends said they were pleased to say the least. Especially since Tuesday would have been his 22nd birthday.

Murray and his friend Clayton Collins were accused of beating Blankenship to death with a wrench, wrapping his body in carpet, and dumping it in Arden. Tuesday, 5 News talked to T.J.'s mom, sister, and best friend.

"I'm just shocked he did that to someone he called a brother. I've been praying for this and this finally gives us some closure," said Casey Shaw, T.J.'s Best Friend.

"I'm very happy with the jury's decision. It's been a long time. I'm glad justice is being served. Burying my son, putting him into the ground, was the hardest thing I've had to do. And the second hardest was being in the same room as the man who killed him," said Tena Painter, T.J.'s Mom.

Murray could face life in prison without the chance of getting parole. He will be sentenced in September.
