Lena Lunsford's Aunt Speaks Out

A name you've heard quite a few times on 5 News, Lena Lunsford, is back again. Tuesday, 5 News told you the mother of a still missing Lewis County girl was released on probation again and apparently her family members are fed up with it.

The first thing Janet Skinner told 5 News was how embarrassed she was about telling everyone that she's related to Lena and how disappointed she is that Lena was once again let go.

If you remember two years ago Lena's 3-year-old daughter Aliayah went missing in Lewis County and she has never been found. Skinner said not a day goes by when she doesn't worry about that child and she thinks Lena did something to her. Lena is the mother of seven children and one more is on the way. Skinner claims she witnessed Lena beat her children multiple times and that she didn't look at the kids as anything more than a bigger welfare check.

"She doesn't really know who the fathers are and none of my family wants anything to do with her. Just like I tell everybody, I'm ashamed to say that she is my niece. But I cannot pick my family. I can only pick my friends," said Skinner.

This is not a representation of 5 News. It's strictly the thoughts and opinions of Janet Skinner, Lena's Aunt.

"What I think myself is that she has taken Aliayah into a different county and killed her or threw her in the water or something. Lena's too smart to do something like that in Weston where she lives. Lena is like a snake. She is trouble," said Skinner.

Skinner hopes that when Lena's baby is born, the state will take the child so it has a better chance for a good life. And she hopes Lena is finally sent away to prison for good.

5 News did reach out to Lena's attorney to get her side but we haven't heard anything yet. As soon as we do, we'll be sure to let you know.

Not to be taking this obvious mental case's side....but I can testify to the fact that if you have a relative that mistreats her kids and you call DHHR.......you're wasting your time. First....they'll call her, warn her that they are coming and when they do....they won't find anything to complain about. I've done this as had all my other relatives on a relative that mistreated her two children constantly and they never did do anything. Waste of time. It's pathetic and utterly irresponsible at the amount of children that die under DHHR's care in their so-called foster programs. Some of these children are treated far worse in their foster homes than their original ones.

If I saw my niece beat on her children I would have reported her. So to me she is just as bad as her niece.

They ought to take this WORTHLESS piece of trash out and just shoot her,it would save the taxpayers a lot of money.
