If you wanted to go get a checkup and some blood work done for free, the Louis A. Johnson VA Hospital was hosted free screenings outside the Clarksburg Wal-Mart!

The rain didn't hamper too much on the event, but veterans could come out and get screenings free of charge! Officials say out of all of the events they host every year, it's important because they want to help out veterans and give them the opportunity to get checked out if they can't come to the VA during the week.

"We always want to find ways to help our veterans, and this is important because it gives veterans a chance to get checked out, especially if they don't have the ability to come in during the week," said Wesley Walls, Public Affairs Officer.

About two dozen veterans came out to the screenings, and the VA plans to host several similar events in the coming months.
