One case that continues to be a mystery is the disappearance of Buckhannon local Luke Stout. The 24-year-old vanished a little over a year ago.
Family members said the last time they saw him, he told them he loved them, walked out the door and was never seen again. There were some allegations that Stout's disappearance may have been related to the murder of 29-year-old Joshua Oberg.
The two incidents were around the same time frame, but police said no connection's have been made. Many different departments banded together to look for Stout.
Police said there were many tips in the beginning of the investigation, but then the tips started to run dry.
First Sergeant D.B. Swiger of the W.Va. State Police said, "Oftentimes you have to believe that someone out there somewhere has the information you need that could be vital to an investigation. Sometimes it's that one tip that brings everything together that links everything. The public input is very important. Sometimes people have information they think may not be relevant to the case, but it may be the key we need."
Police are still looking for tips about his disappearance.
