Toys, games, stuffed animals, and many other items filled the Marion County Election Center Friday for the Fourth Annual Christmas Toy Shop. But because of how generous the community was this year, officials have decided to hold another Christmas Toy Shop on Tuesday.
Marion County churches put this event together every year to help parents in need fill the space under the Christmas tree with presents for their kids. Every parent got to pick out two presents for each of their children. Everyone who came out Friday had to pre-register a few days in advance. They were given a time slot to come by and choose their presents, that way it was fair for everyone. Those who didn't register still got to participate, just a little later.
"Oh, I feel tremendous. Not only for the children, of course, but the parents and grandparents who are feeling like economically they can't provide what they would like to for their children and we're helping with that. So as a dad, I can appreciate that," said Holley Faulkner, Leadership Team Chairmen.
If you're a Marion County parent that needs a little help getting your kids gifts this Christmas, the second Christmas Toy Shop will be held Tuesday evening from 4-7 o'clock at the Marion County Election Center.
