A Marion County man was arrested last week on several child abuse charges.
Police said 40-year-old Dale Barber, Sr. was arrested on three felony counts of child abuse causing injury.
One of those charges stemmed from an incident when Barber supposedly struck an 11-year-old boy on his chest with a wooden board. That caused the boy to have a bruise. Barber apparently struck the boy because he wasn't doing his exercises correctly.
Barber was arraigned on Thursday and released on a $15,000 bond.
If you suspect child abuse, call Sgt. Adam Scott with the State Police Crimes Against Children Unit at (304) 367-2701.
