It's time to pull the plug on the popular MTV show "Buckwild". That's the plea from the Charleston Mayor Danny Jones, following the shocking death of one of the show's stars.

"Buckwild has been surrounded by controversy from the beginning.

In December Senator Joe Manchin blasted the show as a travesty. Manchin even wrote a letter to officials at MTV asking them to cancel the show.

Adding to the problem two "Buckwild" cast members were recently arrested for two separate incidents.

On Monday 21-year-old cast member Shane Gandee was found dead inside his truck from apparent carbon monoxide poisoning.

Jones told TMZ that the reality show has, "had it's run and it needs to stop".

Alisha Armstrong, a Morgantown resident, told 5 News on Tuesday she doesn't agree with the Jones' demand. She said thought all the events would have happened even if no one had been filming the kids.

"The man who was killed was doing what he did before the show," Armstrong said. "He was out four wheeling with his uncle and his friend. I don't think the show changed him. He wasn't out in Los Angeles partying with any celebrities."

"Buckwild" has been scheduled for a second season, but MTV officials announced Monday that filming had been suspended.

This happened on their own 'personal' time. MTV had nothing to do with it. Politicians need to mind their own business and stop arrogantly thinking they control the world.

I understand what you are saying about the 3 men being experienced in mudding, but they left after they were at the bar, it was 3-4 am... They werent thinking clear. They probably got stuck, realized that it was too dark and too far to walk anywhere. They were intoxicated, so they probably decided to pass out and leave the truck running since it was cold outside. They thought they would wake up in the am and walk back. Just my opinion.

The Mayor and Senator Manchin both need to "focus" on their own jobs which they are showing to be lacking in and leave movie making and MTV execs alone to run their own business!

THIS is exactly what is WRONG with liberals. They feel they are dictators over everyone ELSE'S business! Butt out. No one voted you all in office to 'control' other people.

I would like to say before I leave my comment that this is MY OPPINION,nothing more,...I am soo sorry for this families huge loss and I give my prayers and comfort for the days to come,I myself find it Soo hard to believe that THREE grown country men who have lived their WHOLE LIVES mudding, hunting, fishing ect. to have just passed away in their vehicle from carbon monoxide poisoning from being stuck in a mud pit, I had a very small leak on my muffler yrs ago and I could smell it, I just don't see this happening the way everyone is saying it happened,in my oppinion,I TRULY DO NOT see three grown EXPERIENCED men fully alert, just sitting in this vehicle while it fills up with deadly gas and not even soo much as putting a window down?!..,this gas causes headaches and gives signs that it is there!..I am by no means a genius, but as I step back and look at this situation and put it together...Three grown men, together,go mudding, they get stuck in a mud pit,mud covers the tailpipe causing the fumes from the exhaust to start filling up the truck, but in this WHOLE PERIOD OF TIME,THESES THREE MEN JUST SIT IN THIS VEHICLE,NOT EVEN AS MUCH AS ROLLING DOWN A WINDOW AND JUST SAT THERE?!...I am sorry, but in my oppinion, this is WAY TOO HARD TO BELIEVE!!...three grown men just sit there and let this gas take their lives "which is not a fast or instant thing"I see and have also been mudding on SEVERAL OCCASIONS and anyone I've ever seen get stuck, rolls the window down after a minute or two of being stuck and says hey I gotta get out of the truck and assess the situation & find a way to get it out,not just sit there, with the vehicle still running,no windows down,NOTHING?!..I find this hard to believe, again,in my oppinion, I think this WHOLE TRAGIC SITUATION NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED FURTHER, cause yet again,in my oppinion, this is FAR from being a situation that"just happens"
