CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - The mother of a missing West Virginia girl won't be relocated to serve supervised release for welfare fraud.
A federal judge has approved a modified supervised release plan that allows Lena Lunsford to stay in Wheeling.
The U.S. Probation Office in Wheeling had planned to relocate Lunsford to the Clarksburg area because she violated conditions of her original release plan.
In a court filing, Senior U.S. Probation Officer Daniel E. Fugate said Lunsford's treatment provider determined that relocating her would have an adverse effect.
Lunsford was freed from a federal prison earlier this year after serving eight months for welfare fraud.
Her daughter, Aliayah Lunsford, disappeared in September 2011. Authorities have made no arrests.
The Exponent Telegram first reported the modified release plan.

She knows the location of her baby!! I think it should be put in law. If a child is missing from a home for over a year the parent or guardian should be tried for murder! When you bring a child into this world it's your responsibility to keep that child safe. I believe that would put a stop on missing children. If not a stop, there wouldn't as many!!
